First, congratulations on producing what is without question the best gallery program available. It is almost 100% perfect! I say 'almost' as there is just a slight problem i've discovered...

I have a complete multimedia setup linked to various DLNA devices, as well as a media manager linked to this.
I linked Imagevue into this by symbolic links, and it all worked perfectly with one exception. The thumbnails created by Imagevue are being read as normal files by the other programs. Not only does this mess up the presentation, but the other programs additionally create thumbnails of the Imageview thumbnails, resulting in a large number of uneccessary and confusing thumbnail files. For example, clicking on one thumbnail displays the full image, while clicking on another identical thumbnail displays the Imagevue thumbnail.

Unfortunately there is no way around this currently, as those programs can only be set to ignore named folders, and not wildcard files. So, can I ask you PLEASE to consider storing Imagevue thumbnails in their own subfolder for the next version?
That would make it 100% perfect for me.

I have a Linux based Qnap NAS which has all the DLNA stuff built in, as well as Apache running a website, and hosting my own domain on it. Beats having it all hosted by a dedicated provider. Just need to figure out a way to get my Icewarp mailserver transferred to that from the old WIndows server.

I did try many other galleries and, although some looked very pretty, they all seemed to have major file handling flaws with them. Some Flash designers for instance, think it's quite ok for the user to set about manually editing XML files. Really? Entering and updating a few thousand files is not something i've got time or inclination for. I have a computer to handle mundane tasks like that.

Imagevue does it all right, and it looks good too. Just the slight niggle with the thumbnail placement...

Just installed 2.8 and was rather dissappointed to see no solution on this.
Is this likely to be addressed anytime soon?

Actually, it would totally help, as this is the standard way of storing thumbs.
As mentioned in my original post, all programs i've seen, and particularly the ones I use, all have an option to ignore named folders for just that reason.
So, a '_thumbs' subfolder in each folder would be absolutely perfect, and in line with how other programs store their thumbs.
Perhaps even an option for the user to set the name of the thumbs subfolder?

Please do it and let me give ImageView a 100% rating.

So, are we any closer to seeing this at any time soon?
It's the only thing that let's this great program down.
