About Chinese language

26 Dec 2006, 03:35

Dear Imagevue team,

I' am a graphics designer/photographer in Beijing China. I like Imagevue so much and wanna buy it, but soon I realized imagevue still doesn't support the Chinese language (and other binary char sets) yet. So I am here to ask if you have plan to add the Chinese language, I am the Chinese language translator of DevalVR (http://www.devalvr.com) and pano2qtvr (http://www.pano2qtvr.com).
I have plenty of experience in software localization and have great confidence that I can do the job well. BTW, I won't charge for that help. PLZ contact me.
Best regards!

why don't you juz start it first and share it here in the forum? i think if its good enough, they'll then include it into the website officially. juz a suggestion.

btw, i am a graphic designer too.

Sorry for the late reply on this one - Kinda recovering from holidays and some travelling around.

Regarding the issue with chinese lanaguage, let me mention a few things. We will not be struggling to integrate chinese and other languages/charactersets into current version of Imagevue, simply because the core fundament is to weak to handle it, and we didnt plan it at the time of core creation. Looking forwards to a major new release coming later this year, we will be looking to build a platform which is much more capable of adopting global characters without much modification.

I certainly will not prevent nebevolly from doing a translation to chinese and share if he likes. I will also contact him for possible future collaboration with chinese.

Hi mjau-mjau,
Wish you had a good holiday trip. I have already started translating since the first post. But I am wondering in which format should I send you the translated script, a .txt? I don't know if you're using POedit, which is a very good tool for software localization.

Best wishes,
