Unfortunately, thumbnails only look crystal at 100% size. This is related to how Flash scales images, and we have tested two methods - The original method pixelates thumbnails on scale, and our workaround method removes pixelation but at the cost of slightly over-blurred/smoothed thumbnails.

You have scale 50% in thumbnailscroller? I don't see a huge problem with this, as they are small and iconic, and when the visitor rolls mouse over them, they scale to a clear 100% no? You set quality of a thumbnail in terms of compression globally, but you can't set quality of a 50% scaled thumbnail as this is done client side ...
