How to sequence the images?

08 Sep 2009, 21:06

I see the Sorting choices on the admin page that displays the images of a folder, but I don't want any of those choices. I want to sequence the images the way I want and I don't want to have to change the file name to do that. Is there a way to specify a custom sequence? I'm used to just dragging images around to get the sequence I want (in Breezebrowser) and don't see a way to do that.

Sorry for inconvenience, we're already planned this for next major update, but for now please bear with this.

Actually if your files are in order from camera might be ok to have them just having sorted in chronological or alphabetical order.

I'm not nearly that good a shooter :-) OK, for now I can give the file names a prefix, but that will be burdensome for a large batch of photos.

Aha, on a hunch I checked and found that BreezeBrowser has a batch file rename function that lets you rename files with the same sequence as the images are displayed (after rearranging). That takes the burden away for me so there's no hurry :-)

Glad you found a solution, there are lots of batch file renamers both for windows and macs, what I tried to say, usually you display photos in cronological or alphabetical order anyway, so might not even need to rename anything.

Oh, I knew what you meant. It just doesn't ever seem to work out that way for me.

Also, as I see how best to work with Imagevue, Breezebrowser seems very good to use to organize the image set, create a set of reduced-size files to upload (sized to fit the largest pixel-size monitor in normal use), then rename those files in sequence. I'm sure there is other software that's also good for all that, but BB is what I have.
