Slideshow in Start page

02 Jun 2009, 18:45

I think this is a bug or I can't configure it well.

I configure the transition effects for slideshow and they apply correctly in all folders except the start page where photos change one to another whitout any transition. It this correct?

You can see this on my galley http://www.edgarblog.com/galeria

Thanks.

To me, it seems like your start page is using filemod for presentation mode. If this is true, then it will not be governed by the other presentation settings. filemod runs under different/limited parameters.

But your photographs are excellent!

Thank you for your comments about the problem (solved) and about my photos.

I configure the start page as folder but then appears the thumbnails in the lower page. In filemod mode they don't appear and looks better. Is it possible have the start page in filemod with the effects in slideshow (or in folder mode without the thumbnails and without change the configuration of other folders)?.

Thank you and congratulations about this program, it is a great job.

You should read a little about filemod if you are going to use it. The main things you should know is that it has it's own settings and they are limited. They do not follow the rules of the folders. Another important piece is how the pictures get sized. If you want better consistancy and smoothness in your presentation, you need to adjust the picture sizes to be "the same" and fit into "the stage" area. Currently, your presentation is jumping and adjusting to fit, so it doesn't "feel good". The way to look at it is this is a preview of things to come inside. So, they don't have to be the "exact" pictures. Take a little artistic license re-size and crop to make it feel good.

Unfortunately, these are your options ... You can either use the "slideshow" filemod, but this is limited. It simply fades between images and does not rescale or anything. If you set as normal folder, it will inherit the general settings of your gallery.

In a future release, we are going to add "folder attributes". This means you will be able to for example set up a standard startfolder, and set it to "slideshow" and remove controls and other items you don ´t wanna display in this folder.
