"IF" as default description

13 May 2009, 09:47

This morning I imported a little over 500 images using FTP (because of the IE bug I reported yesterday/Monday) and about 190 of the images have a default description of "IF" (without the quotes). So strange.

Any suggestions?

I did manually remove the description lines (using nano) although they were recreated...

I also had a picture with a strange descriptions in my album. Deleting it in admin didn't help.

Maybe it's exif information?

Yes it's exif, gallery set up this way, if description is empty it will be pulled from exif.
and about 190 of the images have a default description of "IF" (without the quotes). So strange.
Could you please provide a link to see? BTW we had some exif bug right after the release but did fix it immediately, maybe re-downloading gallery would help here.

Any update? I've tried removing the "IF"s manually using nano although they still reappear.

Does it help when you use a space ' ', in the descriptions?

Yes, space would help. Also you actually DO have 'IF' in descriptions in images, atleast that what php is reading form the file.

Download 2.1.1, now you can just delete them from Imagevue Admin.

Will download 2.1.1 today!

Worked great. I needed to make all the descriptions blank in order to remove the "IF"'s.

I think it would be great if there was an option in Imagevue not to import EXIF descriptions!

Actually only 2 files were changed:

v2/imagevue/include/ivFileImage.class.php
v2/imagevue/include/ivExifParser.class.php

Hey Pain,

It seems that the "IF" description has returned. Is it possible this is a bug again (if it was one the first time, I'm not sure)?

Thanks!
