Considering hosting change

27 Mar 2009, 07:31

Hello all,

I'm currently running Imagevue X2 on a very slow host in the Netherlands. Because of the speed problems I'm considering a host change.

I'm looking at Dreamhost (US). Does anyone has an Imagevue X2 gallery hosted over there?I'd like to see what the speed difference is with my current host.

I'm not interested in coupons or other info. I just like to see how well Imagevue works.

Thanks

Tidaku

If you use Reverse Ip http://www.domaintools.com/reverse-ip/ you will find out how many domains are shared on the same server as you. I have godaddy.com and it was ok until I started adding too many directory's and sub directory's (about 100 directory's with photos) now it's painfully sloooooow starting, but after the main page loads it works fine. From my research the only thing that works with large gallery's is a Virtual Server Hosting.

Hi,

I've got my site running on Dreamhost, a couple of thousand photos in a X2 gallery and a few more on a V1 gallery:

http://dance-corner.net

Been happy with the performance and the service is great. It is a PS with the minimum of memory used.

Thanks for the link. It works just fine from over here. I think I'm going for a tryrun somewhere this month.
