Problems with .htaccess in imagevue x2.0.1

10 Feb 2009, 17:03

Hi all,

just wanted to express my wish for proper password protection of folders as well.

Other than that, I'm going with the .htaccess, but that's not more than a bumby workaround. It asks for the user and password, and if you know it for the respective folder, your're fine. But if you don't, it kind of crashes the browser, since it keeps on asking for a user/pass every single time it wants to load a thumbnail of the folder... You can only click "abort" as often as the number of thumbnails per page is big.
We are aware of this bug and it is fixed in working version, will be released along with X2.0.1 in few days.
I have the same problem in version 2.0.1!
How can I fix the problem??

Thank`s
SORRY for my BAD english! I`m from Germany! But Imagevue is the BEST Gallery I`ve ever seen!!!!

Okay, I seen what you did, it is not supposed to work this way. .htaccess supposed to work as an additional layer of protection for admin (/imagevue).

Also I have to say while your method is quite... unusual, it worked in firefox anyway.

But this is not how it supposed to work. And it has nothing to do with what we fixed.

Basically you can not. There is no good way for protecting certain images.

Actually you did it quite well, atleast in Firefox it worked for me.
