I have a problem with uploading pictures to a newly created folder! The three standard folders which come with the gallery works perfectly. But when I create a new folder, I will have to copy the folderdata.xml from another folder due to php safe mode on. But I cannot upload pictures to this newly created folder even though CPHMOD is 777?? Does anybody know what I am doing wrong???

While persuading your hoster to turn safe_mode off (which is already deprecated in latest php versions, thanks god). You can continue to create/chmod folders using your ftp client. There is nothing we can do, it should be turned off.
It can't be even switched off using .htaccess. Only by editing php.ini.
