New user - big problems...

14 Jan 2009, 20:51

Hi,

I just downloaded imagevue and tried to install it. I looked for the 'upload' folder mentioned in the instructions and didn't find it. I then found a folder called 'imagevue' in the download zip file and uploaded this to ftp site.

When I access the site davekynor.com/imagevue I get a message saying that I need to change my password. However, every page I try to visit returns a fatal error and I can't do anything.

Please help!

First of all, I presume you are trying to use the new Imagevue X2? You should be following the guide here:
www.photo.gallery/v2docs/quickstart/

I tried your link, but it was dead, so i am still not sure what version you are trying to set up and where ...

On a separate level, another possible problem might be if you are using a "free" host. I seemed to read from your front page that you have a free service, but of course they put ads on the page. Those ads often interfere with the XML scripts of Imagevue ...

Found the problem!

Hi Karl,

After my initial posting, I found the quickstart guide and learned that I uploaded the wrong directory.

Things seem to work fine now!

I had been using the free hosting on GoDaddy, not realizing that it comes with the banner page... I think I will switch over to BlueHost after reading good things about them on this site.

Thanks!
