I hear you on the background info. I tried many different variations. When I used the scale feature, it would scale in both dimensions independently, sometimes distorting the text. I decided to do it this way, as a middle solution. In this case, would be ideal to have the text "scale-to-stage" in only the vertical dimension, but keep the horizontal dimension fixed. This is admittedly a special case....
I ended up with this size background jpeg and using "noBorder" as a middle solution. I will try it on various screens. For the same reason, I ended up using actual size pictures, as I shot in different mediums, and had more control on how the images were presented: polaroids close to actual size, portrait format as large as possible, landscape a little wider, etc. The "fit to margin" option is great, but would be even better if you could set margins top and bottom AND left and right, (like "fit to margin long side"). Another great feature for the next update!
But the program is very cool. Just nitpicking here. Bravo.
