Google Indexing Your Image Pages???

05 Nov 2008, 11:52

Anyone have any luck with Google indexing your image pages?

My experience is folders and "html pages" within the Imagevue "HTML Site" are indexed, but the individual image pages are not.

Google Analytics will recognize them and record traffic, but the search engine so far indexes everything but them.

It's looking to me if I want Google to pick up info on a subject I'll have to create "Page" within imagevue re: that subject and not rely on the images metadata itself.

Any similar experiences? Any idea what might cause this?

Gotta say we don't have any experience with this ourselves, but will be trying it out later ... :?

Meaning you haven't seen the behavior? Or you haven't tested it?

I've crawled V2 with GSiteCrawler and is see's all the HTML image pages. Uploaded the sitemap to Google via Webmaster Tools, but google either doesn't see them, or just doesn't index them. I guess there's no real way of know whats up behind the scenes with Google.

I understand this may be all for naught as it may be just something Google won't do for whatever reason. But I thought it worth mentioning in the chance there might be something that could be done to make the HTML pages for Google friendly.

Ya'll rock as always -;)

Meaning we made the HTML gallery primarily so that google could crawl it, and it can ... However, I am certainly no expert in googles inner workings and as to why it won't display certain pages in searches, is nothing I have immediate answers to.

We will of course stay tuned to make any changes that may improve indexing in google.

Nice -;) Maybe google indexing of flash will most likely continue to improve as well (hopefully...). Thanks for responding.
