Text Desctiption Runs Into Image

05 Nov 2006, 23:55

I got descriptions into the slideshow but the text is New York Times...not a pretty font...would be nice to format it somehow. Can I format the text to where it does not go into the image?

You can change your fonts, size, position, colors, etc. in the slideshow(imagevue)config.ini file.

Hmmm, looks like another afternoon of trying troubleshooting. I did this:
re: https://forum.photo.gallery/viewtopic.php?p=1241#1241
I had the same problem as you, with the desciptions in the slideshow.
So it changed the displayposition to 'displayposition = left'.
There is more space for your descriptions. Sometimes the descriptions is not shown (big resolutions pics). When you change the formatminwidth into formatminwidth = 10, it should be OK.
No changes in the slideshowconfig.ini had any effect on the text descriptions. Is the slideshowconfig.ini the right file to modify? There are a lot of similar files for the slideshow and I get confused on which one to edit.
I saw: slideshowconfig.ini/ indexfont = Verdana For some reason this is being ignored (NY Times instead), along with the rest of my entries. I'll look at the documentation some more, after awhile. A nice daydream for a rainy day

The config10.ini now works:
http://realpanoramas.com/upload/?folder ... nfig10.ini

Confusion is not knowing whcih file to edit from documentaion that hasn't been upgraded to the new version yet. There's numerous SS modules now and the documentation does not indicate which file to edit.

It would be nice to have private viewing urls for the models and have like a bikini contest competition, and ultimately publish the site menu for the public after all the girls entered - say 12 models for a calendar. It's been on the back burner for awhile now. Was going to use php for it but ImageVue is cooler.

For the slideshow which is started from the gallery, you must edit the slideshowimagevueconfig.ini file.

The slideshowconfig.ini file is used for the slideshow without the gallery.

OK. Still cannot get the font changed but DID get the alignment left with your coaching. :) Thank you...six pack ok?

I went throughout the slideshow cofig files and changed everything in it to Veranda and still got that mis-matched NY Times font for my efforts.. defautfont I had thought to be the key- not... MysteryImageVue- the puzzle...

Hey, can I change that title under my Avatar to read Dumb Ass?

It is also possible to show the descriptions on the left site of the picture: https://www.photo.gallery/515
On the left site is more space for the descriptions, so they do not run over ther images anymore. BUT...if you have a very long description they can be run over the arrow button (previous).

One thing that drives me absolutely crazy is that the Documenation does not specify which file to edit in the slideshow. There are two identical files: slideshowcofig.ini and slideshowimagevuecofig.ini. There's nothing specific in the instructions. Hit or miss. If you had not told me the difference, I guess I would have never known.

I cannot get that blasted sitemenu module to work either. I finally had to draw the line on where to give up. I mean, I followed what I believed were correct installation instructions but got nada.

I'll just leave the slideshow text as New York Times. The edits don't work for me and the sitemenu module is a different story for later I suppose...maybe.

I'm having a beer on that note!

Turns out that I had Georgia entered as the font, which I did not have installed on my system- I chaged it to Veranda- didn't work. I then chaged it to Arial and it worked. Problem solved. Thanks.
