Custom themes compatible with 07-30 beta?

30 Jul 2008, 22:13

I have some custom themes that worked fine until the last beta. Now they count all images within each folder, but will only display one image in the thumb view.

It does this regardless of the startpath or startmode.

All works fine if i use default, bluedragon, or gardner.

I'm afraid last update required updates of the themeConfig.xml files, and you can be pretty sure this will happen again in the immediate future updates.

I could keep a list over changes to the themeconfig xml files for those of you who want to edit and maintain your XML file manually, but that is a cumbersome task.

This is why we recommended to not spend too much time on theme editing for now, and is allso why we will not be creating many themes ourselves until further progress.

The best you can do for now: When you edit/create a theme, take note of the changes you make(colors, background?, settings), and then with new release, re-apply your settings to a new theme file.

Yes...I recall you saying earlier on that could happen. Cool thing is you've made customizing fairly painless. Thanks for the quick reply.

I checked it out - Interesting piece of software. Not only does it compare files(theme files updates for example), but it also synchronizes folders.
