How do I display description in Tooltip?

29 Oct 2006, 02:49

Hi,

I like using as much screen space for my images as possible. As a result, I always have issues w/ displaying my descriptions. I don't believe it's possible to display descriptions to the left if the image is vertical AND below the image if it's a horizontal picture -- dynamic locations for descriptions. Would be a nice feature for the next version though... What do you think Karl? ;)

I figured it's best for me to display my descriptions in the tooltip but I can't get it to work. What configuration item do I need to modify and where can I find that item i.e. which configuration file?
Thanks,

Sam

if it's so easy...why didn't you figure it out? ;)

i'm assuming you are referring to how to display the description in a slideshow that has been launched from the imagevue gallery...

with that said, you need to edit slideshowimagevueconfig.ini

then set the following parameters are set:
Code
displaydescription = true
imagepopinfo = description,
you could also set
Code
imagepopinfo = name,action, description
if you DON'T want the description to show besides the tooltip, set
Code
displaydescription =

How do I lose "Description"?

02 Nov 2006, 21:34

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I have a related question. Your solution worked great but the word "Description" is displayed right above my description. How do I lose that? I'd like only my description to show.

Again thanks for your response.
Thanks,

Sam

I used those settings above:
displaydescription = true
imagepopinfo = name,action, description
Text descriptions appear in both the mouse over and the static text at the top of the page. That's cool except that the text runs down into the border of the image area and in an ugly New York Times font that does not jive with the other fonts displayed. Is there a way to chage the font and keep the text from running into the image?

Didn't work

05 Nov 2006, 18:55

That didn't work either...

All I want to do is to lose the "Titles" i.e. I don't want it to display the word "Description". I just want to display the description that I entered without the word "Description" at the top as a title to my description.

I hope what I'm trying to say is clear. It sounds like a riddle when I read it myself. Please let me know if what I wrote here is not clear.
Thanks,

Sam

what you're saying makes sense, and the fix has something to do with one of the language files. perhaps you should try changing some of the other language files in case there is a conflict.

I also dont completely understand... If you edited the description file correctly, it would not say "description"
