Contentfolder?

27 Oct 2006, 20:58

Second post on subject...hope this gets me at least a clue.
Cannot understand the cofiguration documentation: https://www.photo.gallery/115

Opens on My Computer/ Server for Testing:

localhost/btos/upload/index.php
The accessed content folder resides within the upload folder and opens images within-ie: content/calendargirls/jennifer.

So I made another folder - called= content2 and placed it within the same upload folder with the origianl content folder. How do I access that second content folder- different images within, through the url?

The equal sign baffled me on how this is supposed to work in documenation examples. Supposedly I have acces to multiple content folders with the same instance of Imagevue= :?

No explanation is given about the 20% being written into the cofig file? Necessary or not? Explain PLEASE? Cannot get any of the first 5 cofig examples to work...

Well, like the links on that documentation page ...

www.photo.gallery/imagevue/contentfolder=content2/

With that link above you are referencing a secondary contentfolder with the same isntance of Imagevue. That gallery reads content2/. If you want to put that reference in the config file instead, you can do that:
contentfolder = content2/

Did I misunderstand the question in any way?

I have figured out that this simple thing: CONTENTFOLDER= URL enabled typing into the browser url to access the new content folder. Simple enough really. Don't know why it took me so long. I've not figured out how some of the (first five on the list) other configs work. Hit and miss is a hard way to learn but I eventually got it...at least on the contentfolder config. Now if I can just figure out how the others work...when I get time. I may post the new gallery upgrade this week-end.

Not really URL, though, just RELATIVE path (like content2/) to the main imagevue directory (upload/ in your case), so together it's gonna be upload/content2/.

I got it to work with something... pretty confusing to me again now and I forgot how I did it a few days ago. I've been too busy to acually make it work and upload it. The instructions on how to do it cofused me pretty good. Still am I see. I noticed that I had changed the cofig.ini/contentfolder = content. Apparently that had worked for me somehow so I let it be. I remember that I typed in "content2" and had a positive result.

In the config.ini file/contentfolder the problem I have is: what to write in that space, instead of false. I thought I had this. Forgot what I did to get it right! AARRGHH

To go to another contentfolder with an URL you can use: https://www.photo.gallery/imagevue/?cont ... =content2/
(I think that mjau-mjau missed the questionmark in his post)

For your site, you must change 'https://www.photo.gallery/imagevue/' into the URL of your site
