Imagevue used for website building

27 Dec 2007, 13:33

Hello Everyone,

I am in love with Imagevue, simple , clean, professional. I was wondering would there be a way to modify the source code to display a web page inside the frame instead of pictures or anything similar with the same "loading" flash style.

I'd appreciate any responses.

Merry Xmas

Not the current version...but I understand HTML will be part of the new version. Although how that will be implemented is unknown to everyone but the developers right now. Maybe they'll chime in.

You can currently do the reverse. You can embed the current gallery (or just the slideshow module) into an html page as a flash object.

Mhm, I did see that the filetype support had *.html in version 2.0 and I was wondering if it will be what I have asked. Well let's hope for the best =)

Interesting questions ...

Just as an immediate response to the original post: I presume you are already aware of the sitemenu module as in these examples?

The sitemenu allows a menu to build a basic site around the gallery, but as you most likely are aware, it doesn't provide the framework to actually display 'pages' inside the main stage. It only allows tooltips, popup windows, and links to external pages which you may build yourself. Optionally, as markam24 mentions, you can of course embed the gallery into a html page(or even a flash site).

As for the forthcoming stuff =), 'html' files will be supported, but initially only as a 'supported filetype'. That means that you can expect the content of a html to display(instead of a picture), but there will be no hokus pokus around it. Also, since flash only supports basic html text formatting tags, it will not be able to display complex html like tables or div tags.

After the initial release, we will sooner or later proceed with some further options for building the entire site around the gallery. Perhaps as an add-on module?

Hi ya, thanks for the reply.

Yeah I am aware of the sitemenu, but i need a little more complex as I said displaying html content like an Item description with some Text and Pictures, nothing fancy. I just love the simplicity and the look of the whole script =)

Karl...

Will 2.0 be google sitemap friendly in some way? If not the original release maybe something down the road?

I really am hoping for a dynamic way to generate an image list with links. Possibly a .php page that reads associated meta data (title, description) with the option of showing the thumb.

A "spider/bot friendly" gallery that generated google results would be a huge asset IMHO!

There will certainly be an 'optional' php generated html gallery. We may not put too much focus on the design of this item, but it will be spider/google-index friendly.

I think there will be an optional link from the html gallery to the equivalent 'page' in the flash gallery, and vice versa. There should also be a static link from the flash gallery to the html gallery in the source code somewhere so that bots can index.

Perfect -;)

...very little design would seem necessary as users should tailor it to their site anyway and the purpose (IMO) would be to attract visitors to main gallery.

Very happy to hear this is being included!
