Possible for 1 main category instead of always 2 subcats?

27 Apr 2007, 00:05

I'm wondering if Imagevue can show just one subcategory, or if it must be at least 2. For example, if I were to create a category list of "website photos", "business photos", "personal photos", is there a way to have them click on each and bring them directly to the pictures?

At the time being (version 1.4) I have to have at least two subcategories under each main category... for example, I would have to put "website photos" then "such and such" and "something else" to let them view the photos. There isn't a way to let them just click "website photos" and have them pop up. Please let me know soon or I may have to find a new gallery instead of updating.

I think you mean something like singlelevel: https://www.photo.gallery/support/docs/116

You mean something like this: www.photo.gallery/imagevue/?singlelevel=true ?

Exactly right! Thank you; I had no idea it was already able to be enabled.

The only question I have now is... how do you actually set it for single level? I've been poking around in the folder but can't figure out how to configure it for that setting. Thanks again for the assistance, it's a lifesaver.

I did a search and found where someone had mentioned to open "config.ini" and change the singlelevel option to TRUE, but I don't have that in my config file. Here's all I have instead:

<config>
<configlowrespopup>true</configlowrespopup>
<configshowfolderdescriptions>true</configshowfolderdescriptions>
<configshowmenu>true</configshowmenu>
<configstartimage>load.jpg</configstartimage>
<configstartimagekeep>false</configstartimagekeep>
<configstartheading>Showcase gallery</configstartheading>
<configstartfx>true</configstartfx>
<configmenuopen>false</configmenuopen>
<configcontrols>true</configcontrols>
<configaltnav>true</configaltnav>
<configsubbuttons>true</configsubbuttons>
<configthumbstart>true</configthumbstart>
<configthumbindicator>true</configthumbindicator>
<confighideimage>true</confighideimage>
<configdescriptions>startopenifopen</configdescriptions>
<configpopmargin>0</configpopmargin>
<configthumbpopopen>false</configthumbpopopen>
<configthumbattribs>1,1,1</configthumbattribs>
<configpopshowdesc>true</configpopshowdesc>
<configmotioninit>false</configmotioninit>
<configmotionspeed>1</configmotionspeed>
<configtextcol>666666</configtextcol>
<configdropcol>FFFFFF</configdropcol>
<configthumbframe>true</configthumbframe>
<configserverextension>php</configserverextension>
</config>

You must be using a very old version of imagevue, which used the config.xml for configuration. Can you perhaps update? The singlelevel setting was a feature added in a later release also.
