Security & Blog integration questions

07 Oct 2006, 10:16

Dear ImageVue experts:

I'd like to set up a website where my family/friends/colleagues can log on and upload their images to share with others. Would highly appreciate if any one could offer some hints on the following questions.

1. Is it possible for ImageVue to set up passwords for different which they could use to log on to my website and ONLY have access to their designated folders (set up by administrator) for uploading purpose?

2. Can Imagevue be integrated with common Blog platforms (e.g. WordPress, F2Blog, Phpbb,...etc.) so that users could vote on images posted and view the access statistics of individual images posted on that forum?

Many thanks in advance!!

You can set individual password logins, and restrict them to any given imagefolder or groupfolder. Please read more here: https://www.photo.gallery/57 . It is however a manual task to create new logins, and the users will still be able to view the entire content tree, allthough they may only upload images to their specified imagefolder.
2. Can Imagevue be integrated with common Blog platforms (e.g. WordPress, F2Blog, Phpbb,...etc.) so that users could vote on images posted and view the access statistics of individual images posted on that forum?
Yes, Imagevue may be integrated into blog platforms. However, users would not be able to vote on images or view any statisitcs. There simply is no such integration - You have to keep in mind blogs are HTML powered and Imagevue runs in single instances of SWF files.

In general, I would suggest that Imagevue is not powered for such possibilities as you have in mind. For a future release next year, things might change a little. As for now, there is no problem in integrating the slideshow or gallery into a blog page, but you might aswell forget any combined interactivity from the blog.
