I am aware that X3 uses FontAwesome v4 icons.
4 years ago, you mentioned in a post HERE that you might be looking into implementing a more-recent version in an upcoming release. Did that ever materialize?
If not, as I am currently using Font Awesome 7 on my non-X3 websites, is there something simple that I can change in one of X3's backend pages, that will allow X3 to use more recent version(s)?

Do you have a link to one of your websites that uses font awesome 7? One of the reasons I didn't update, is because newer versions use a different implementation, some options uses javascript while others even require a fontawesome account. Hello, Karl, thanks for getting back to me.
I also stand corrected: I had assumed that I had been using v7 icons, but after logging into my FontAwesome account today, I noticed that my account shows I am actually using v6.7.2. I have the option of selecting v7, but unless I discover in the future that v7 offers an icon that I wish to use & that v6 doesn't offer, I will leave my account to use v6.

Exactly, I had to sign up for a (free) FontAwesome account, to which I added my domains that I use FontAwesome on. I then include the 1-line Javascript code to those pages, or in a global.mjau-mjau wrote: ... some options uses javascript while others even require a fontawesome account.
I did an experiment, by adding my 1-line Javascript code to X3 | Panel | Settings | Custom | Custom <head>, and it worked: that X3 site of mine now displays FontAwesome v6 icons :relaxed:.mjau-mjau wrote: In this case, you could likely add your own fontawesome into X3 for usage with your own icons.
