Display certain folders larger in the gallery

01 Jan 2025, 15:36

Hello,

would it be possible to display two specific folders larger in the first row in the gallery, and the subsequent ones smaller?

https://www.linsenschuss.de/galerie/

In my gallery I would like to have the first two galleries “Lanschaft” and “Astrofotografie” in the top row as two large columns, so that they fill the entire width. The remaining galleries would then be displayed in 3 columns as before. These two galleries would be my focal points, which is why I would like to present them a little more prominently.

Can this be set individually?

Unfortunately, this is too complicated for the X3 gallery layouts. Besides, how would you configure that? Remember, it's not only desktop, but also mobile devices, so there isn't really a concept of "use two columns for desktop, but three on mobile". It could be setup manually, but even that requires some planning. There is no automated option for this.

In the future, as I already have in the Embed Gallery, it's possible to configure first element (or every N element) to consume exactly double (or any multiplication of the default grid size) size. This is only possible in CSS grids (which X3 doesn't use yet), and not exactly what you requested, but worth mentioning that there might be some options for this in X4.

Thank you Karl. I would now just blindly assume that the configuration could take place with some kind of selection, something like preferred galleries which are displayed larger. The size would depend on the grids. Just an idea. But no problem, I now know that it is not possible for the time being.
