This is automatic as Imagevue calculates how many rows and columns that fit on the screen, but also includes a limit for easier viewing on larger screens ... what are you going to do when the screen is very small if you set a number?

If you want, you can go to settings>thumbnails>thumbnails and change the margins and min/max values of the thumbnails size area:
