For the first row in a gallery with full set of rows (in my case five rows) the uppermost thumbnails don't show the Tooltip properly when the description is more than five rows.

My suggestion is that the Tooltip would show below the tumbnail instead of above.or showing "... more>" or something similar to indicate that there is more to read.

Is there anything I can do meanwhile, until a bugfix is released?

I agree that would be natural behavior. Essentially, the tooltip was not created with long descriptions in mind on mouse hover ... for now, you could increase the margin above the thumbnails (settings), so that there is more space for tooltip above top row of thumbnails.

for now the margin setting did definitively solve the problem.
Maybe, for future a version, we see better automated solutions, for example flipping the tooltip below the thumb in case it is larger than allowed.
