bootstrap model/ start page

I like to add a simple bootstrap model to the start page and I don't know in which document I should put my HTML and Javascript code. I also want to combine it with the user session. So that its only visible when you first enter the site. In wich document can I do that?

What do you mean "Bootstrap model"? I'm assuming you are referring to the Twitter Bootstrap framwork? I am not sure what you want to insert on the "startpage" ... You want to open some popup window on the first page or something, hovering over imagevue? There is no specific "user session" in Imagevue, you would need to make a javascript cookie.
The template file where Imagevue is embedded, is iv-includes/templates/default/index.gallery.phtml.
