Just to add some further response to this ... It is a global phenomenon (not only Imagevue or flash) that all graphics seem less sharp on retina, than non-retina, unless they are in fact prepared for retina screens (at double resolution).
Why? This you need to ask Apple about, but basically images are scaled to fit the retina resolution (rendering them slightly blurry), while on non-retina screens the images are displaying at a sharp 1:1 pixel ration unscaled.
As Nick said, we hope to offer retina compatible version int he future, which technically requires embedding images at double resolution.
