I have read it before, but can't find where it was.
But my question is simple

How can I allow downloading of selected directories / folders I manage?

I want public folders/directories to closed for downloads, but private folders woth passwords for customers to be allowed to download?

Hope my question was to understand?

Just disable downloads by default, and then in any folder where you want download to be available, just add this line to the folder parameters field:

image.image.imagebuttons.buttons=lightbox,download,zoomin,zoomout,maplink,share,fotomoto

... actually, add whatever items you want there, but just make sure "download" is in the array so the download button becomes available.
