I just noticed the "view on the map" function in the admin panel on the image page under manage content. Very cool! How can I put this function on the main UI?

Thanks
Alex

That would essentially be the primary function, yes. It would be available from either a text-link in your description "View Map", or optionally from a button on image mouse hover.

It would be cool to add map in a nice overlay window, but this might need to wait for Imagevue X2.8.1 in May.

Martin... will appear on the left side of the screen IF there is gps data associated with an image. When you click on it... google maps comes up with at the spot that matches the gps info. very cool!

The map feature would be awesome. I was waiting for this quite a while now.

Also. I have noticed that in the Admin view as well as on the HTML view information from IPTC such as City, Location, Province, Country etc. are displayed. Where can this be configured to display as Text 1, 2, or 3 in the Flash version?

looks like the maplink option is available under image.text.text1... but not text2 or text3. I checked the option in text1 but the maplink does not show up in the flash gui for images where the link does display in the admin

The option for the MapLink doesn't even show up in the list ox "Text 1":
Here are the options that are available for "Text 1" in in Version 2.7.6.5
- imageindex
- titlepath
- title
- filename
- dimensions
- filesize
- date
- folderdescription
- description
- custom
- exif
- link
- filelink
- purchase
- download
- folderpath
- foldername
- abslink
- fotomoto
- fotomotoproducts

BTW: Do you know where Values from IPTC (not EXIF) can be configured to be displayed in e.g. Image>Text>Text 2 ?
I would like to display similar information that is displayed here: http://www.hirst.ch/?content%2F09+Ferie ... +-+010.jpg
See end of screen.

This feature is added already, but we did not get around to document it yet, because of the focus of the mobile version primarily. Basically there is a new text link in descriptions "View on Map", if the image contains GPS location data (latitude+longtitude). Here is a snapshot of latest beta 2.8, which will be available shortly:

This will simply work in 2.8, as long as this data is available in your image.

Sorry, I will add this option to text2 and text3 blocks also ... I dont know why it wouldnt show up for the same image in admin. Do you have a link to the image? 100% sure you are using latest swf? Per definition, it works as in screenshot above.

In X2.8, there is also "maplink", but you might wanna wait until tomorrows beta update to check this new map feature. We forgot to add maplink option to text2 and text3 also, but this will be available tomorrow.

How to display in "text2", wait for beta release tomorrow. How to add IPTC? This is done through various programs like Photoshop or Lightroom, or some stuff that comes from Camera. To be honest, I am not very familiar with this, so if anyone else has any further recommendations.

Thanks, this is cool. I am looking forward to 2.8

Re mobile version In current release. I have notice that on iPhone - when saving as bookmark on the home screen - the browser controls get hidden. This is quite cool. However, when clicking on a link the page gets opened in a new window which the has the controls at the top an bottom displayed again. Hope, this will be fixed in version 2.8.

I have also notice that on some galleries (HTML version) of mine that when clicking on a thumbnail it opens the photo incl details and in other cases it directly opens Google Maps. See following two links:

Clicking on thumbs works correctly here:
http://www.hirst.ch/?/content/09%20Feri ... eg%20Nr.1/

Clicking on thumbs here opens Google Maps:
http://www.hirst.ch/?/content/09%20Feri ... 0Teil%202/

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

All the images in the second folder has a link to google maps added to them, how did it happened? You can fix it by deleting this file:

I just delete as you said.
