Because it is so damned functional. and reliable.
I've used the standard layout and stripped it of the extras.
For me the menu and controls have to be easy to use and the layout has to be intuitive for the visitor to easily navigate.

I have designed for 17" as a minimum
My picture size default is 1024 but for smaller galleries like my favorites 1280.
Another year or two and I will likely upsize all the pictures to reflect the 85% of users at greater than 1024x768

After my study I have expectations of making many imagevue sites for future clients.

Imagevue does indeed look nice on large screens. However, one of our main focuses for the next release is to make Imagevue look very nice on smaller mobile/smartphone/tablet screens on non-flash devices also!
