I DO NOT want to use fotomoto because of the confiscatory pricing they have and I want to use my own method of ecommerce. In V1 there was a place for a link that would take you to a shopping cart area outside of imagevue. Is this still possible with V2.

Yes, you can add a simple link in your descriptions, for example "buy now" which opens any given link to a specific purchase page for this image ... You can also setup a "purchase" button similarly:
1. Go to admin -> settings -> settings.attributes.image ... Add the "purchase" item.
2. Now you will see that every image in the admin has a new field "purchase", where you can add a link to the purchase page.
3. Go to admin -> settings -> image.imagebuttons.buttons ... Add the "purchase" item ...
Of course none of this is automatic, you have to link each image separately, there is no cart, and the purchase process is not integrated.
