Start slide show instead of thumbnails

Is there a way to start the slide show when I go directly to a folder instead of seeing thumbnails? It works when I use Imagevue's menu (i.e., slide show auto launches) but when I type the whole URL directly into a browser it launches thumbnails.
I have tried everything but nothing works.
Thanks,
Dan

The thing is, when Imagevue accesses a folder from the menu, it first checks STARTMODE, and then displays the gallery accordingly.
However, the URL #/path/content/ is a pure reflection of where the visitor is in the gallery. If the visitor click a menu item which is set to startmode=image, the resulting URL would be #/content/path/file.jpg ... so if they share from here, the incoming clicks will start in slideshow mode also. However, if the visitor deliberately closes image, and goes to thumbnails view, and THEN shares the url, then obviously they are sharing the thumbnails page ...
If you want to make sure that visitors start directly in the gallery, then either provide the link to the first image -
#/content/path/image1.jpg
... or you can use startpath parameter instead, and it will trigger the startmode setting also:
?startpath=content/folder/
