I would like to know how I can remove the > symbol on the main menu.

and thanks for your answer but "Node" is already removed from the settings mainmenu.items

and i also already displayed as none on the stylesheet of my theme.

CSS has not effect for this item any longer, because it is not part of any general textfield.
