Fotomoto related question

First of guys major major major respect for 2.7 (did I say major already ? :p)

Anyway I was wondering one little thing about fotomoto.
I have uploaded watermarked web versions of all my images under Imagevue.
I have uploaded all hq images on another server (so they dont go in the backup and all because well it's little over 450GB at the moment.)

How do I keep using the webversions but when someone wants to buy form Fotomoto make it select the appropriate HQ version ?

That part has gotten met stumped to be quite honest.

Can someone shed a light on it for me ? :)

I found a good general article on this:
http://support.fotomoto.com/customer/po ... ked-images

My experience with Fotomoto is limited, but currently it works like this - The images in your Imagevue gallery are automatically added and referenced from Imagevue to Fotomoto. When visitor clicks to purchase an image, they will see a copy/reference of the image you have in Imagevue (therefore watermarked). However, when they choose to proceed with a purchase, they are not in fact purchasing a print(or download) from this exact image. There are two scenarios:

1) Unless you have taken action with HQ photos, then you will be prompted by email from Fotomoto to provide a HQ version of the image that has been purchased. They will then proceed to create the print, or provide the download of the HQ version to the customer.

2) You can tell fotomoto where you have HQ versions of your images stored, so that they can proceed with providing the product to customer without requesting the HQ version from you first. You can set up auto-pickup:

However though, the Fotomoto interface will still only use the smaller preview image (watermarked) for the purchase interface. Why would it load a 4000px HQ image just for the small sales interface? I guess your issue is that you don't want the watermark in the sales-interface? Then I would need to question why you are using watermarking at all for your low-resolution photos ... If the visitor can access a non-watermarked version of your image by clicking the fotomoto buy-button, then your watermarks don't really have any effect.

As explained above, Fotomoto will use a HQ version to send to your customers.

Karl thanks for the extremely good explanation :D
Ill setup the autopick stuff after work and then lock and load ... we are ready to go live with Fotomo.
As for the release ... excellent ... speed-wise I can notice the improvements in front and backend really well.

Depends on what you actually intend for this to benefit. As mentioned, Fotomoto only uses the pictures in your Imagevue gallery for it's sales interface, so it does not really matter if the images are small - In fact, it is probably better and faster. Once you receive an order, you will be prompted to provide a high-resolution image to Fotomoto so they can provide the print or download.

The only reason I can see that you may want to redirect to _altimage, is so that the Fotomoto purchase-interface itself shows the images non-watermarked. However, I see little point of this, because then what is the point of watermarking your images in the first place if its not for security? Also, having larger non-watermarked images available in the _altimage folder would basically make the images available to the visitor.

If you want to setup so that Fotomoto can automatically access your high-res photos after a purchase has been made, you can read up on the Auto-Pickup feature in Fotomoto here:
http://support.fotomoto.com/customer/po ... rint-Files

Perhaps you could explain your intentions with this question, in case I am missing your point to some degree?
