Unfortunately you can not set transparency for the tooltip when hovering over a thumbnail. We make a few design choices as we develop the gallery, and when this tooltip is semi-transparent, it just becomes hard to view because of the text and the thumbnails in the background.

Currently, there are only a few icons hard-coded to display related to the sharing option. We were thinking of adding a way to select an optional icon for each folder from the admin, so hopefully this will be available from a future release. You would be able to add your deviantart icon to an icons folder, so that it is selectable from the admin.
