Performance on dedicated server

Hi,

When I try a load test on my site, the result is : 8 requests/sec. Which is low.
When I run the same test on my wordpress blog (which is on the same server), the result is : 1100 requests/sec.

I use a revers-proxy (varnish) to cache static and dynamic files.

So, is it normal ?

It's Apache Bench (from my own server) :
$ ab -n 10 -c 10 http://focalefixe.fr/

I also tried from an other server. Same thing : 7 req/s.

Here is my server :
- Nano U2250
- 1x 1.6 GHz, 64 Bits, VT
- 2 Go DDR2
- 160 Go SATA2
- 1 Gbit/sec

Maybe it's normal but it seems very low to me.

I see your server gives away static files at ~40 requests/sec. So I think it's ok.

I used your methodology

$ ab -n 10 -c 10 http://focalefixe.fr/iv-includes/themes ... agevue.css
