FLV video's do not load

Hi There,

I bought Imagevue a couple of days ago, and am using it mainly for video's.
I tried uploading some FLV's in different sizes and resolutions , for example 1280x720 (80MB of which I would understand if they don't load at all because of the big size) but also small sizes such as 256x144 (10MB).
For some reason they all won't load. The horizontal bar just sticks like it's stuck in the loading process, or doesn't appear at all, see:

http://layerlab.nl/#/content/videos%202 ... rsmall.flv

This is the 256x144 (10MB) video.

I searched the forum and found some people saying something about changing the php.ini, but I don't know how to do that and I'm not sure that this is the problem.

I also tried downloading my youtube video to flv format, but that also doesn't work. Changing the buffer time doesn't either.
I tried uploading via browser and via filezilla, doesn't make any difference.

Does somebody know what might be the problem? Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Dorus

There is something wrong with your video files ... The files don't seem to exist, so Imagevue is trying to load a 404:
http://layerlab.nl/content/videos%202/S ... rsmall.flv

Of course the files must exist somehow, but I assume that your server for some reason is maybe settings incorrect permissions on FLV files ... or maybe this is something with server MIME settings. Did you try to upload a few normal images and see if they work? Did you upload with the imagevue uploader, or by FTP? At least this is why Imagevue won't load them, because as you can see, the URL returns 404 file not found.

That's strange, when I click your link it goes to the 404 page, but if if you go there manually through the menu's on the imagevue website, it doens't give the error page so it does exist. Also when I click the link in MY post, it also works, even though the link is spelled the same as your link.

If i copypaste your link in my browser it also gives the existing page, not the 404 page. Try this one:

http://layerlab.nl/#/content/videos%202/

Anyway, the problem is not that the page doesn't exist, the video's just don't work. I tried uplaoding via the browser but also via Filezilla.

Images work fine by the way.

Please help me out :)

Let me just get a few things straight:

When you go manually through the the menu on the imagevue website, you get to the gallery-page where the video thumbnail is. This has nothing to do with the file. Yes, the file may exist on your server, but it is not accessible through the web browser ... not by Imagevue, not by direct link (as I showed you), and not be any other application if you tried to do so ... This is not related to Imagevue.

Not sure what link you mean, but I assume you mean this:
http://layerlab.nl/#/content/videos%202 ... rsmall.flv
Yes, this link works, but this is merely a link to Imagevue telling it to try to load that video. When it gets to the page, it tries to load the video, but it cannot because your video isn't available public. The above link is NOT the link to your video. This is the link to your video:
http://layerlab.nl//content/videos%202/ ... rsmall.flv
It does not work.

Not sure how this was "my" link. This is just a link to the video folder in Imagevue, which reads that the files are there. However, like I pointed out earlier, there is something with your server that makes uploaded FLV files have incorrect permissions.

Yes, but this is not related to Imagevue at all. I suggest you take that link I gave you, and send it to your hosting support, and ask why the FLV file is not reachable. No matter how you twist and turn this, you can't get Imagevue to load a file that isn't accessible through the web browser.

Send them this link, and ask why FLV files are not accessible through the web, and that you have uploaded with FTP:
http://layerlab.nl//content/videos%202/ ... rsmall.flv

Yes, and this just goes to show that there is something wrong with your server in regards to FLV files.

Sorry, but I have emphasize that this has nothing to do with Imagevue, but is a problem on your web server. When accessed directly through the browser, it should be accessible just like this example:
https://www.photo.gallery/demo/x2/content/Va ... /10kbc.flv

In fact any file should either display in the browser, or prompt for download like that. Your file isn't accessible from public frontend, and this is why Imagevue can't load it. Some servers have even banned mp3 and video(FLV) files, because they take to much bandwidth, although I doubt this is the case for your server. In either case, they must have an answer to this if they are professional hosting.
