Newbie and no experience

Hi, I hope I'm not wasting everyone's time with silly questions you've answered a million times. I promise I've done my best to try and find these answers myself, but I need your help!
Logo: I've created one to the specs but can not find the proper folder to put it in. Doc says: imagevue/templates/default/logo.png I've renamed my imagevue folder, "Gallery" as recommended in the quickstart guide but no template folders are in there. I tried manually creating the folders with my FTP but it did not work. Also tried /Gallery/iv-includes/themes/default. Could you please direct me in the right direction?
Entering page: I've seen some fantastic demos (BTW thanks so much) and upon entering they have a photo with the Filemod blinds already running. I tried to do this with one of my pages as well but I always have to click on the menu for the photo to load. As mentioned in the subject I have very little experience with this so I did blindly try a bunch of things that sounded like they may be relevant, but have had no luck.
So I turn to you, the more educated and aware to please help me out!
Thanks a million!
Cheers!
::Serge

To add your logo, follow these steps:
1. Go to admin -> themes
2. Click to EDIT your theme. If you cannot edit any theme, you will first need to click "create new" from the theme you are currently using to create a copy. Then you can edit your copy, and remember to check "use" for your new theme.
3. Once in your theme editor, see on the far right there is "Upload background". Click here to upload your logo into the theme folder.
4. After file is uploaded, see style -> background_image (there are 3 background images, and you may want to choose to use 2 or 3, as the first one often contains the default theme background).
5. In the URL field, select your logo as background image. Also, you must set REPEAT: NO-REPEAT and SCALEMODE: NOSCALE.
To set photoblinds on your startpage, you must first locate your STARTPATH. Your startpath is a folder, which is defined in admin -> settings -> settings.startpath. Go here and point this location to your folder which is set up as photoblinds. Your gallery will automatically start on this folder now, displaying the photoblinds.
If any further problems, please include a link to your gallery.

Thanks so much for the reply! I was doubting this set up for a bit but you've made me a believer!! You have me up and running happily!
I have however run into another snag and am hoping you can help with this on as well?
I'm setting up a slideshow
http://www.tashpinsent.com/Gallery/#/content/OHS and would like it to load upon entry. I don't care if it auto starts or not but I want the first large image to be loaded and ready to play. This may be a real silly fix because believe it or not I had it working when I had it loading as my start page. Obviously at some point I did something to ruin it and can't get that back!
My last question would be about the teeny tiny thumbnails that flow under the slideshow. Is there any way to make those thumbnails just a little larger and less faded??
I promise that's all for awhile! This is blowing my mind!! hee hee!
Thanks a million!!!
Have a wonderful day!
Cheers,
::Serge

You want the sldieshow in that link to load as the home-page / start-page? You need to go to admin -> settings -> settings.startpath, and set this folder (content/OHS/) as your startpath then ... You can set it as a slideshow by navigating to this folder in your admin, and selecting "use as filemod".

The reason why the thumbnails at the bottom are so small in this specific folder, is because you have >250 images here. If the thumbnails are bigger, the user-interactivity with these thumbnails becomes incredibly tedious if the thumbnails are bigger. Not quite sure what you mean by "less faded" - They seem un-faded to me. You can edit visuals for these thumbnails by going to
admin -> themes -> edit your theme -> thumbnails.thumbnailscroller

Thanks a million once again!! You are fantastic and quick!!
Is there a way I can have the 1st slideshow image big without setting it as my start page?
I'm almost certain at one point I had the page open with it ready to play and all I had to do was click the button when I entered the page. Then I messed it up.somehow?
My problem is I already have my start page set with a filemod photo and in order to get the photoblinds I need to have that as my start page.
http://www.tashpinsent.com/Gallery/#/content/Start
I can't have both right?
This site seems to have the slide show load no matter which gallery you choose, but because I know nothing about code perhaps he did it himself.

I'd appreciate your input!
Thanks again! Your patience is very much appreciated!
Have a wonderful day!

Sorry, I am having problems understanding exactly what you want ... You can only have one startpage obviously (how else would it be a startpage?) ... You have currently set photoblinds module on your start page. If you want to change it into a SLIDESHOW instead (like in the ref URL you gave the link to), then you can do this but you would obviously loose the effect of the photoblinds effect (since this is what you currently are using on your startpage).
So, you want your startpage to simply start in a gallery showing the first image, like in that link? Then you need to go to admin -> settings -> settings.startpath and select the gallery folder you want to start on. Also, check settings.startmode, and set this to "image" so it will start displaying the first image instead of thumbnails.
Optionally, you can still keep your photoblinds startpage and still set all galleries to open the first image (instead of thumbnails) by settings settings.startmode = "image"
