image titles

26 Jan 2011, 23:56

Hi,

For some reason, the images I've uploaded since upgrading have no titles, even though I've followed the same procedure as before and even though all the images I uploaded before upgrading still have titles.

any ideas?

cheers

I think that my question will be in appropriate here.

Using version 2.6.4 I faced with the problem of auto titling of uploaded images which is in Cyrillic format names.
After ending of upload process most of pictures won't appeared in gallery, and some of them (mostly) have a crashed or cuted file names.

In previous generation (release 2.1.8 ) when i using autotitling feature, all was working fine with cyrillic filenames.

Can you fix this problem? its very important. Now i need to use simultaneously 2.1.8 and 2.6.4 version of admin panel.
for auto upload i use imagevue/index.php and for editing and settings i use iv-admin/index.php
it's very Inconvenient.

or maybe there are some .htaccess tricks to solve this ?

Added lately:
I noticed that in another hosting all works fine with 2.6.4 version.
Maybe you can help me what parameters i need aks hoster to set up

Yep, here is the deal:

1. Do not upload images with russian filenames.
2. If you do, make sure you have UTF-8 locale in system. This file filenames will be read correctly.
3. If you don't have UTF-8 locale, use latin only and set titles manually. And disable auto-titling in Settings, so Imagevue won't try to read those letters.

You are probably having some KOI-8 filesystem so all filenames are garbled. On another host it's UTF-8 already.
So you need to ask your provider to help you to switch to UTF-8 locale. Otherwise results may vary.

Do you have a link by the way?
