Folder parameters and Audio player

Hello,

On ImageviewX 2.5, I'm trying to only use the audio player inside specific image folders.

I have checked the "use_imagefolder" check box and everything is working fine, but I have also music playing in my other folders (music stored in the initial path for the audio folder). Like I only want to play music on specific image folders, I would like to disable the audio player by default on my gallery and only enable it on my specific folders.

I tried first to remove the mp3 files inside my default storage folder or choose "false" as initial path for the audio folder. When doing that, the audio player is still enabled and is trying to play an undefined track...

So I would like to use the new option of ImageviewX : the folder parameters. I first move the audio player as disable by default, and use this parameters on my folders :
- "audioplayer.enabled=true" on the folders I want the music to be played
- "audioplayer.enabled=false" to stop the audio player when leaving a folder with music and enter in a silent folder

The first options works fine, but with the "audioplayer.enabled=false" parameter the music don't stop when entering in a silent folder.

Is it possible to use some specific parameters equivalent to use the play and stop buttons of the audio player with the folder parameters new feature?

Thanks

Just one question:
What makes you think that your visitors want audio to be starting and stopping just like that? Sorry to tell you, but visitors have very low tolerance these days for features like this. Often they will simply "stop" the audioplayer, although some may allow it to run. However, having it starting/stopping against the users will, goes against both the usability and technical aspect of Imagevue.

The fact here, is that Imagevue has several hooks for controlling the audioplayer, its state is stored per session, and also in flash cookies to remember the visitors preferred setting. Generally speaking, you can control the audioplayer to be on or off, and also change what music it plays per folder. However, you can not generally toggle the audioplayer on/off within a single visit.

Technically, the audioplayer only initiates and listens to settings when the gallery first loads, and unfortunately you cannot control it with folder-parameters. Even if you could, it would conflict with user start/stop.

Music on website is often boring for visitors. Most of them usually stop the audioplayer.

On my website, I have made some private galleries with a specific music. Like most of visitors have already turn off the audioplayer on my main gallery, they don't know there is a specific soundtrack for the private gallery they are watching.

I would like to let the choice at the user to start and stop the audio player, but I haven't find yet a solution to allow only music in one specific folder. By removing files in the hidden mp3 folder, the audio player is still started with an "undefined" track with an infinite spinning wheel...

The problem is, you simply will not achieve it like this. The audioplayer was created to primarily use a single folder (mp3). Then we created an option "use_imagefolder" so that you could force the audioplayer to look for mp3 files in folders. This would require that you actually do have mp3 files in your folders, and if not it will revert to load tracks from the default mp3 folder. By no means was it set to "not be able to load a file", like you are trying to do ...

I supposed I could try to add a setting for this, but I don't think it will be for X2.6 in January. Maybe February?

Create a 5 second long mp3 file that is a recording of silence. Place it within the mp3 folder in the galleries you wish there to be silence in. Place the mp3s of music you do wna the visitors to hear in the mp3 folder in those specific galleries.
