Serious problem in v2.1.8

21 Aug 2010, 06:47

Yesterday I upgraded to v2.1.8 but on two seperate occasions (yesterday and today) my MacBook rebooted after I clicked the full screen button in the home screen. Thing is, it doesn't always do this, jut the two times.

I re-uploaded v2.1.7 (I always download a backup first before upgrading).

Specs of computer:
Mac OS X 10.6.4
Safari 5.0.1
Flash player 10,1,82,76

I upgraded by uploading the imagevue folder, index.php and imagevue.php files. I never edit any source files, the only customization I did was from within the admin panel.

Whoa, your macbook actually rebooted?? Not even just application/browser crash?

I am not sure what's going on, but the SWF was not changed at all from 2.1.7 to 2.1.8, and its not related to the PHP scripts of course. I can only imagine it is something to do with flash player versions VERSUS browser version, and perhaps some unfortunate combo between them?

I am on macbook also, and I wouldn't want it to reboot from a click!

Keep us updated if you experience this again. I know there has been reported some bugs with the fullscreen button with release of some new browsers, and this is something I will be looking into. Not quite sure how it can be related with a crash like that though ...

Yes, spontanious reboot without any warning... Will test 2.1.8 on my local server on both Safari 5 and FireFox 3.

I downloaded the Flash player and re-installed it, no problems anymore. It's the same version as the installed one, perhaps a file had become corrupt.
