"popup" you could just open from any page with some very basic javascript, so it certainly support that.

Then to have Imagevue X2 work as only a slideshow, would simply require editing the config file to set it to operate as slideshow only (without thumbnails mode, and better optimized layout for slideshow only).

I could help further with this if you get to the stage that you are going to do it ...
