Hi,
my hoster is not accepting the 777. the maximum is 770.
But i know there are some galleries at the same hoster.
Now the fact that my upload for files is not working.
Is there any way to get it working with 770?
cheers

You don't necessarily need chmod777, as its all down to how the server is setup. All you need, is for the PHP script to be able to write to the content folder, and then you can upload images.
This must be possible with some permission, or else other programs would not be able to do it. I would need a link and login to your admin to check this out ...

I believe you should contact your hoster regarding to this, atleast folders gotta be 777 because it's read/write/execute (open folder) for everybody. And files permissions might differ, depending on host users policies.
I think this already been discussed in email. You need to consult your hosting support regarding permissions.
Also I am not 100% sure how they 'not allow' them. Not allow for ftp? or php?
