hello!
i have ordered a lustre and glossy print from fotomoto and i am really 100% satisfied. Ink and paper are really high quality. From France, i have recieved my shipment within one week via UPS.
Note that FineArt prints are shipped seperately via FedeX. For France, i have paid 16.00€ for 2 premium prints.

Now i have tested, i am very enthousiast for using it on my coming fotomoto shop :D

Yep, it does look very good :) Right now I've set it up using my wordpress blog, but integration with imagevue would be much better. Hopefuly by the end of this month :)

edit: Just received my test prints, premium paper prints came back with a green colo cast on my B&W photos..

Sorry I am slightly unfamiliar with these terms. Green color cast? Is this something bad?

Most print shops use color paper and color printing to create B&W images. The printer uses a combination of colors, like magenta or light magenta with another color to create different shades of grey. This process can introduce a light color cast which is no good, since the image should only contain neutral shades of grey.

I contacted fotomoto support about this issue and they offered to do a re-print of the files after having checked the origina; I sent in for printing. According to them, they print many B&W photos and never had any complaints.

I have to say, support is rather quick in answering questions.

Cool. Appreciate your updates here in the forum ... I guess it didn't initially occur to me how important small details in print must be for serious photographers ..

A photo isn't finished until it's printed ;)

Although it seems the problem is being caused by a bug on their end. I upload my photos in the RGB color space but the version on their server has the Gray color profile embeded which it shouldn't. That would cause a mis-print.

Alreay contacted them with my findings, hopefully they'll fix it fast. Their products seem high-end, escpecally the fine-art prints. That's the most important thing for me when selecting a print partner.

Integration of Fotomoto into Imagevue is much more than providing the prints. It is foremostly being able to provide photo-dedicated e-commerce into Imagevue, including the CART, item OPTIONS and all the way to CHECKOUT and PAYMENT, and even providing DOWNLOAD access to any digital download purchased by the customer. Of course the final step may also include creating the products/prints and sending them to your customers, and I am guessing that unfortunately this is done strictly from within US borders.

They already had a representative writing in this forum thread specifying that there will be a SELF-FULFILLMENT option for prints.

Edit: I just spoke to a representative at Fotomoto:
1. We provide the following currencies: USD, GBP, EUR, CAD and AUD.
2. Yes, self-fulfillment will be an option. Our expected date for that is Q1 '11.

GBP is an option indeed. You can select the currency you want to use from within you fotomoto profile. My prices are in Euros. Thing is, customers can only pay in that single currency.

Something to watch with the current exchange rate between the pound > dollar and euro > dollar.

Also, shipping is really fast. I ordered three test prints and had them ship to me via US Postal Services and within 4 days I received them. FED-EX and UPS should be even faster. Only thing that bothers me is the expensive shipping costs of fine-art prints to Europe..

I have been wrestling with the problem of e-commerce and imagevue for several years now.
I am using Actinic software, which is not ideal, but I have it already.

What I need to use this software is the ability of the 'buy' field in admin to fill itself in with prespecified data, and therefore create a link to the purchase page.

The following is a sample of what I wish to create:

<file name="SPW_8004.jpg" purchase="/acatalog/Photos.html?photo=http://www.thephotoman.co.uk/Our_Photos ... t/Weddings and Wedding Evenings/994 22nd May 2010 Wedding of Shelley to Peter/09 Des Erin and Family/SPW_8004.jpg&name=SPW_8004.jpg" title="" description=""/>

I am sure that you can see how this works, however I will annotate part of it.

purchase="/acatalog/Photos.html - This is the link to the catalog page

There follows two parameters passed to the page - firstly the location of the picture, and secondly, the picture name.
One
?photo=http://www.thephotoman.co.uk/Our_Photos ... t/Weddings and Wedding Evenings/994 22nd May 2010 Wedding of Shelley to Peter/09 Des Erin and Family/SPW_8004.jpg
Second
&name=SPW_8004.jpg"

It should be possile to add into admin the field for the link tio the purchase page, and the rest can be generated automatically.

If the above is too complicated then the following could be used.
Load the pictures, not only to the content directory, but also to a common directory, as in the following example -

<file name="EnJ_Eng_0_2280.jpg" purchase="/acatalog/Photos.html?photo=http://www.thephotoman.co.uk/acat_pics/ ... 0_2280.jpg" title="" description=""/>

This requires the addition of two fields to admin. one as above for

/acatalog/Photos.html - the path to the catalog page

and one to direct the parameter to the common photo directory.

http://www.thephotoman.co.uk/acat_pics/

This gives less work for admin and more for the user.

My site is www.thephotoman.co.uk. At present look at weddings and engagements, Emily and Jonny. Try clicking the shopping trolley on any photo and you will see the latter method in operation.

I do hope that this helps. It would be just as possible for me to adapt one of the free e-commerce programs to perform the same function and save everybody a lot of money.

Regards to all
Chris

So, if I understand you correctly you need some sort of template for buy button?
