Warning: session_start() ALL OF THE SUDDEN!

13 Feb 2010, 18:15

Please help me! I have been working on my website gallery for a couple of days now and I am really happy with it. Everything was working with my host provider. Then all of the sudden, this morning my site won't load. Only partially loads. My site is: www.shawnmakinen.com

When I try to access admin, I get the following error and can't access:

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(D:\TEMP\PHP\sess_kbs190nl81386mgon8ovfck1b1, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in D:\Hosting\5649727\html\imagevue\index.php on line 8

Like I said, all was fine, so I know my host (go daddy) supports php and all permissions are set correctly. btw, i'm on a windows hosting service.

I don't understand code or scripts so if there is something to change, please describe it so a noob (me...big time!) can understand. And if my host needs to change something, please give me the correct wording so I can tell them correctly what I need done.

As a test, I re-uploaded Imgevue into a different folder (exactly as downloaded with none of my own content or settings) just in case i did something, but I get the same problem.

I can give you my ftp login if you need it.
Best,
Shawn

Well, I just had the same issue again this morning. I'm not sure but maybe the server purges temp folders once in a while. Do you know if there is a way I can make imagevue write to a folder within my hosting space instead of going to the drive? I'm sure this involves changing code, but I have no idea how to do that.
Any ideas? I'm on hold with my hosting company right now……they are trying to figure this out again!
Thanks
shawn

I think I helped with that in Email. For the record:

Server was set incorrectly, erasing temp folder everyday with all the content, so php couldn't write to it.
