Thumnail view on start page

I have looked through the forums to find out what im doing wrong but cant find a solution - i continue to change the setting to thumbnail from image and save it in admin but will not show thumbnails - please help

And when you set startmode=thumbnails, does it actually SAVE it correctly? I think its a good idea to actually find out where the problem lies. Perhaps you have a link to your gallery?
Also, when you click SAVE, can you try clicking the save button at the TOP of the screen and not at the bottom?
