The new Slideshow module - "SlideshowX"

Hi all,

New user here. I have made a basic gallery here: http://www.softubspas.co.uk/gallery/

I am trying to add the new slideshow module that Karl sent to me to my HTML pages. I have successfully uploaded the demo here:
http://softubspas.co.uk/attempt1/

But I am having trouble trying to configure it to point to my specific gallery folders so that it displays images relevant to my specific pages. Apparently it's just one line of code I have to change, but I'm not sure which line or which file even.

The demo has all the images in the same folder, and there are two .xml files within it which has details such as name and description, but I was to bypass all that and have it load from the gallery.

Should the slidshowx module be in the gallery folder, or should the gallery folder be in the slideshow ("attempt1") folder? I want to create multiple slideshows for multiple pages pointing to multiple gallery folders, so the levels at which I create multiple copies of slideshow modules is unclear to me. So confused, I would really appreciate some help from an advanced user. However, I don't think this module has even been officially released yet, hence no documentation or specific forum section for it.

Also just like to say, apart from this problem, everything else so far has been working like a dream! Awesome product!

Thanks,

Heh, you posted this in 3 separate forum topics although I told you this is an un-released module with no support docs yet, so you will require some patience. I sent you an email ...

Hi,

I was wondering if this new slideshow is present in the 2.6 beta release? I can always beta test modules as i have multiple websites running imagevue and i own my own server.

Actually, we kinda shelved this project as it wasn't really that cool, and at best, it would take time we don't have. You could download this file https://www.photo.gallery/?file=slideshowx.zip and take a look at the slideshow. I could probably help you connect it to the Imagevue XML, so that it loads "folder", but other than this I don't think we can provide much support.

Hi, I'm also quite excited to try this module. Could you please send me info how to implement this to imagevue project, this is something I was thinking about putting on my wordpress site Can this be size at will or is it like imagevue itself?
I tried just to check it out but I get an error code #2032 You can check it out http://portfolio.grimur.net/slideshowx

Either you did not upload the XML file, or your server has set some permission on it:
http://portfolio.grimur.net/slideshowx/images.xml

This is a very simple slideshow that you can choose your own size for. It works best for images that are set the same size, and to be embedded in a webpage for example wordpress.

Just some information for those of you who want to try and connect this with an imagevue folder, you can replace the XML file reference in the document to an imagevue reference like this:
https://www.photo.gallery/demo/x2/?a=files&p ... ent/Fancy/

It will load folder information dynamically, but you will need to place your document appropriately so it can load the images from relative position.
