mainmenu settings

01 Dec 2009, 08:47

I'm trying a couple of settings for my menu and I need to understand fewthings. some questions

1. I want a logo in my menu but as far as I can see this is possible only if I choose a vertical menu, correct?
-I'm trying an horizontal menu. I used a trick loading a background image with my name in it, top left, and lots of space on writing portrait in my first menu folder title ( in order to leave the space for “albertobernasconiphotographerâ€Â

at the moment I put the writing "albertobernasconiphotographer" top right, and it's not bad. obviously the problem is that sometimes the menu goes over the writing. that's why I would prefer it top left

1. This "logo in menu" is not really a part of imagevue in any way, os i cant provide much help on this subject. You can put a logo as part of your background image, but you must try to position it so that it doesnt overlap any other navigation items of course.

You should be able to use different size and color for some menu items, by using basic html tags in the title. For example:
Code
<font size="15">title here</font>
2. "mainmenu" is not valie for horizontal menu simply because the horizontal menu does not expand/collapse! Where would it be??

3. Sorry, what "writing" do you mean? There is a theme setting for opacity of menu item background for ACTIVE items. This should easily be enough for visitors to understand, and unfortunately you cant set active colors for menu items.

4. This is because you have been trying to set the alignment of imagecontrols to below image. This setting is intended for galleries that only use image-display, for example slideshow. Elsewise, the controls will try to attach below an image that doesnt exist, so it positions at 0!

5. Not sure what you mean. The startfolder is like any other folder in the gallery, unless you have set it to a filemod. You can remove the frame of the filemod in admin -> settings, under "filemod".

6. You can change the margin for texts in admin -> settings -> image.text.text[].margin

can you please explain me better this?suppose I want the " about" menu item name like "albertobernasconiphotographer" as you can see it now . and keep the others item menu as they are now (portrait, architecture, etc)how do I do?. where I find that code?

I'm not sure I understand your reply. in my gallery when I move over a menu item the writing became red, active. I'd like the writing ( portrait, architecture, travelling notes etc..) to stay active, red, while I'm browsing the photos .

I don't think I get the point . please help me and tell me what I'm supposed to do to avoid it.

thanks

Its a bit difficult, because of your English and I seem to be repeating myself -

Sorry, I looked at your site and its really impossible to understand what you mean. Imagevue has its restrictions of course - Its not a html site where you can build every single item from scratch.

I already explained this. There is a theme setting for opacity of menu item background for ACTIVE items. This should easily be enough for visitors to understand, and unfortunately you cant set active colors for menu items.

I dont know how else to say it, but why have you set image controls to align to below image instead of just bottom? Change the imagebuttons.alingment !!!

yes you are rigth , because you looked at it almost a month later. and with no reply I changed. Now "albertobernasconi photographer" is the background. I wanted to create an "about" menu item and name it "albertobernasconi photographer " with its font size etc.
you wrote

iI just asked how to do it. I just asket to name the menu item "about" with "albertobernasconi photographer" as it is now, same font, size color...and leave the others menu item ; portrait, travel notes etc. as they are now, color font size.
I want to know if it's possible to have just one menu item with different size color font compares to others. am I not clear?.

sorry I've been talking , working , traveling with english people since I was 15 , I'm probably getting old now. we can switch to italian , but I doubt you know a single word.
I'm really sorry to bother you so much dear Karl.
have a nice christmas

A I tried to explain, you can use something like <font size="15">title here</font> for any menu title. Of course this will ONLY affect the specific menu title you set it on, and not the other menu items.

Merry Christmas Alberto -

you tried to explain? maybe , but sorry I may be stupid and I don't know how to do that. how to change a single specific menu item. how to put the font settings for that menu item( where? , how?) , I only know how to set them all...but it's my fault, don't worry you did your job properly , and I can understand you are tired to write few more words instead of repeating what I have not understood

Go to admin -> manage -> select a folder -

On the right side of the screen, there is a field for TITLE, which is the name of your folder. For example, it might say "Holidays" ...

You can change it to:
Code
<font size="24">Holidays</font>
This single menu item will then look different from the others.
