Keeping it simple

I am trying to keep my site really simple.
Two Music tracks.
One general. One on Bio.
Uploading light image files for speed.
Simple colours , no animation.
I have problems with é and e in titles.
I would prefer that the links open another window.
I would have really liked an abyss type animation but in white.....
I have great problems with my addthis buttons. In fact, I really must get down to some CSS work
Not to mention PAYPAL additions

My work is like an onion, the more I peel away the layers, the more I want to cry.
Run your wrist under water before you start to peel onions, that way you
do not cry.

I would not mind some feedback if you have the time.
Thank you
G.

A big thanks to Nick and Karl for his help.

Very nice - One thing that bugs me though: Your background image repeating seems to be misaligned. I see some margin at the top that doesnt seem to belong there. Did you change the ALIGN of the repeating background or something?

Regarding your problems with the TITLE, you say "Ã ©" - I am not sure what character that is or what you are trying to display. Perhaps you can tell me exactly what character you are trying to display that does not display, and also provide login to your admin so I can take a look? Imagevue and the font you are using should support all special characters ...

When you say that you prefer that links open in new window, do you mean the links in the menu? That can be done by using the following method. In the admin page for your menu link, set the link like this:
Code
http://www.yourlink.com*_blank
The *_blank after the link will set the link to open in a BLANK window.

Just some advice about your "addthis" buttons: Not quite sure what "addthis" is, but I presume you are simply speaking about adding some graphic buttons to your textpages? Unfortunately, Flash textfields are allowed to display only very basic forms of html. Its hard to work with graphics layout in a flash textfield, as thy are basically only for text with simple integration for images. You cant easily tweak the layout of images like you can for modern browsers, not even with CSS because CSS for flash textfields is aimed mainly at basic text formatting.

Paypal addition? There is no e-commerce integration in Imagevue as of yet although we hope to provide some improved solution for this in a later release. The only intermediary solution, is to use the "purchase" button - This is simply a link/button for every item, where you can define an external link, for example a paypal purchase link. Its not a shopping cart or anything, just a way to define an external buy-now link where the processor page will have to handle the next step.

I do not under stand when you say that my background image repeating seems to be misaligned. "Did I change the Align on the repeating image?" I am not sure, I am not a programmer, I do not understand CSS, nor flash. I break things down and try and figure out how they work. I played around a lot with a lot of files. I had a lot of "Rubbish in, Rubbish Out" not to mention total wipe outs now and then.

However, I had the opportunity to view my site on a large Apple screen, I must admit that the background image was not the same.
On my screen I have a slightly darker band of color on the top section of the screen. It is well balanced, and I like it. I thought that this was normal. Then I saw my opening page on a larger screen, my dark band of color filled almost half of the screen.
Disappointment? Maybe not, I told my wife that maybe, just maybe, I should invest in a Mac. ;)..., she replyed, that maybe..., just maybe, I should go walk the dog.

Regarding the characters that will not display, I'll get back to you on that one with a clear example. I have no problems whatsoever in giving you my access codes should you need them.

I will try your code for the New Window command. Thank you.

The "AddThis" are the icons can be found here
http://www.addthis.com/help/flash-overview
and on my site you can find it here. They do not work yet so I added a 'Share More' option for the time being. You will find it in links.

People get lazy, so we have to make the task simple for them. I myself use it, Here is an example of it in use, it is my page in ArtLimited.
http://305.portfolio.artlimited.net/ you will find it at the very bottom of the page.

As for Paypal, I understand that this is not a feature intregrated into Imagevue. but if I don't get paid how will I save up for Imagevue X3?
Photographers are willing to purchase Photoshop CS4 so why not an Imagevue Pro or an Imagevue Platinum? ;)

Regards Gerald.

You've removed the background image now haven't you so no need to worry about this. ;)

Lol, very funny. I've had similar conversations with my wife ;). All you need to understand is screen resolutions v.s. screen sizes. Look it up on google / wikipedia.

You just need to be aware that any symbols you put online may not appear as there intended symbol. http://www.ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm

Maybe you can do this in the text editor, by clicking "View HTML" you can see the text in it's HTML form, so you can then add your own HTML. Including the Addthis snippets from their web site.

Can you not add individual links to paypal pricing that you preconfigure? What I mean is, I think you can set up a multiple payment option for subscriptions or similar priced products, adding links to these pre-determined prices / charges via PayPal may allow you to get orders out to customers...of course I know it's possible it's just a matter of looking at the options open to you in PayPal and then look at how you can intergrate that into your X2 site.

I will post something up on the subject as it's relevant to what I want to do too.

Here is some new important post about "shopping cart" in Imagevue:
