CAN ANYONE GIVE ME AN ANSWER

10 Oct 2009, 05:14

Hello

I have been trying to upload a image for the background on my gallery but I cannot get it to work, this what i did

1. went into themes, edit, background upload - browse, clicked on that and looked in my documents and chose 5Z9Y1040.jpeg and I then uploaded it
2. Then wrote in the exact name of the photo in the background image box URL - 5Z9Y1040.jpeg
3. Changed align and repeat to suit the gallery
4. saved

went into my gallery

the dotted spinner just goes around in a loop and so no gallery comes up.????

So I don't know anymore

Do I need to upload the photo from MY Documents into my gallery folder in FTP first? then upload etc on imagevue or what!

I really need help!!

Karl offered to have a look for you if you PM'd him your site log-in details, I'm sure it would be sorted and an explanation provided if you did.
Are you sure the image is a jpeg and not jpg?

that was just an example it does not matter what the example is whether it is jpeg, jpg, gif or png the question is thatt it does not work and what i wanted to know is why and also does the image I upload does this have to transferred across in FTP before of after I upload or does it really matter.

Yes to your other question I have emailed 4 times to Karl now with relevant details and had replies that do not work

Hi, Re the jpeg/jpg. I'm sorry but I make no assumptions of anyone and I just wanted to be sure.

If it's any help I always use ftp to transfer any images to my gallery, there is no need to upload via your gallery admin and ftp. Just once using ftp is enough..

I guess Karl is kinda tied up with improving IV right now. :?:

I use a modified default theme and this is what I see in the theme admin.

I uploaded the background.jpg to */imagevue/themes/default
Obviously you will put the image in the theme that you use.

I hope this helps.

Make sure the background_image function is enabled and saved in that configuration.

Make sure you have set permissions to read and write on the image you want to upload.

Make sure you clear your browser cache. Do this often.

If it still does not work repeat from the beginning. It will work.

What was wrong in the first place?

Melanie, I have several Private Messages from you, but none of them include any login data to your admin. Also, I dont have any emails from you since the end of September - Perhaps you have been emailing or sending something to my partner, Nick? He perhaps has not been aware of the issue from the start ...
