imagevue in popup window

26 Aug 2009, 10:41

Hi ....

I'm doing some tests before I decide to purchase this great software.
My goal is to run imagevue gallery independently in popup window....I'm almost done with this experiment but have one important question.
It's important to me have "start" photo "clickable"

Please check my test website:
http://www.palcomp.us/md_test/example2/test2.html

I'm trying to figure it out why embedded demo gallery from imagevue site is fully navigated (when I click on "start" image is working as a link)...
And other users gallery is not fully navigated ("start" image is not working as a link). But when I go directly to this gallery "start" image is working as a link...

I don't know it has to do something with internal links or gallery setup ?

another questions ...
why main picture is not clickable from this level
http://www.gleikh.com/mywork/imagevue/imagevue2.swf
while is clickable from:
http://www.gleikh.com/mywork

..and is clickable form your demo website:
https://www.photo.gallery/soda/imagevue/imagevue2.swf

I don't know if it's only a gallery setup or gallery version issue ??
I'll be appreciated for any help

best regards ...and sorry for my english :(

Im not 100% sure I understand your issue with the "startimage" - However, you CAN set the startimage CLICK to go to another location in your galelry, or an external location. There are perhaps some issues with your tests:

Startimage click event is often something "#/content/folder/". The internal linking with # methology relies on a javascript embedded in the document "SWFAddress.js". Thats why this link may not be working directly from SWF pages. Another possible issue, is that we are currently experiencing a bug with IE8 where these SWFaddress links dont work properly. This will be fixed in a release coming shortly!

Was there any other questions in there?

Thank your for answering my question..

Is there any chance I can change way #linking methology to make it works when I directly linking to imagevue2.swf ??

example:
http://www.gleikh.com/mywork (start image is "clickable")
http://www.gleikh.com/mywork/imagevue/imagevue2.swf (start image is NOT "clickable")

I'm not using IE :) so I believe that's the issue with the way how imagevue is linking internally.

thanks again !

Unfortunately, you can ´t use the #path link methology without the SWFAddress javascript enabled.

However, you should be able to change your links to use the methology as explained here:

Unfortunately, the method above works for links in description, but not for the "click=event" action for startfolder items. Perhaps I need to look into this ...

ok I have fixed this now - links added to filemods/startpages now convert to work internally, and do not require the SWFAddress javascript.

In addition, this fixes Internet Explorer 8, which hasnt been able to handle these types of links.

This will be available in a release coming very very soon.
