What do you mean 'delete' ? It's visible for you only, just press [Close] on it.

Just a quick note to add to the "pain" comment...
If you are logged in the admin panel and you visit the gallery from another window of the same browser application (IE,FF,etc), you will continue to see the admin panel bar at the top. Closing one, affects the others (you'll be logged out and be required to log in again to access the admin panel). This is because the browser shares history and other information amongst the various sessions it controls. For instance, you can log in, then kill the tab, and start it in another tab, and you're still logged in.
If you use two or more different browsers at the same time and do this, the browsers don't share the history, and other stuff, so the sessions are independent between the browsers.
